How Horses Are Selected

We get the trauma story behind the horse. We start horses in the round pen or a stall depending the severity to begin the observation and evaluation process, During the communication and relationship phase together as a team we develop a plan to work through issues and develop trust through empathy and mirroring techniques.

Boone

Boone is a 8 year old wild mustang out of Wyoming. Boone has been to 6 different homes with a multitude of trainers where he washed out and then sent on to different other homes. He finally ended up with a very good horseman, Brandon & Amy where Brandon proposed to Amy with Boone. Brandon sent Boone to Rite of Passage Equine Rehabilitation Center for almost three weeks for rehab and finally beginning to trust in his forever home with Brandon & Amy.

Adara

Adara is a 6 year old wild mustang. She has been to 4 different homes and trainers, where she washed out and they were not able to tame. Adara is now at Rite of Passage Equine Rehabilitation Center.

Trucco

Trucco has trust issues. He experiences herd bound anxiety that causes a great deal of concern for his safety. He also display anxiety "spooky" out on the trail. Trucco saw his current owner as a partner and did not accept her as leader. This behavior went unnoticed because he was compliant in everyday interactions. It was not evident until she began doing round pen work and trial riding him.

Goal: To establish leadership skills in the round pen.
